Warner Brothers RecordsIt’s been close to two years since Cole Swindell released his self-titled debut album. Just this week, his label gave him a plaque commemorating its three platinum singles and the fact that the record itself has gone gold.

In fact, all three of Cole’s singles so far have shot to number one– “Chillin’ It,” “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” and “Ain’t Worthy the Whiskey”– with his current song, “Let Me See Ya Girl,” threatening to arrive there any day.

Jill Trunnell/EB Media PRKenny Chesney has added another stop to his Spread the Love tour, announcing a show at Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium Friday, August 26.

The visit brings to 13 the total stops on his tour so far, following a May 28 show in Louisville, Kentucky’s Cardinal Stadium he announced just last Wednesday. Special guests Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion will join Kenny on the road.

Jennifer Nettles and Jake Owen will both perform in this year’s annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 89th edition of the holiday classic airs all across the country at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 26.

Sony Music NashvilleWith their first single, “Break Up with Him,” sitting atop the Billboard charts, today Old Dominion releases their debut album, with one of the most unique titles in recent memory — Meat and Candy. While the band’s name references their roots in Virginia, the record’s title hints at their ability to go deep and still have fun.

Next up, the five songwriters, who’ve all had number ones recorded by other artists and now are enjoying one themselves, release a new single, the infectious album opener, “Snapback.”

Arista Nashville/RCA RecordsWith her gold-certified hit “Burning House” only one spot away from country music’s top ten, Cam is revealing more details about her first full-length major label album. She had a hand in writing all of Untamed‘s 11 tracks, with four of them, including her hit, appearing previously on the Welcome to Cam Country EP that came out in March.

CMAIt looks like country music came out on top of hip-hop, judging by the initial TV ratings for Wednesday night. The 49th Annual CMA Awards was the most-watched show of the night, winning the evening for ABC. It’s the first time any network has beaten Fox in the time slot since the urban-centric hit Empire debuted in January.

In all, 13.6 million people watched “Country Music’s Biggest Night,” broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, compared to 11.6 million for the show starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.

The magazine quotes so-called “industry insiders” as saying Gwen and Blake began working on the song – said to be a mid-tempo country ballad — shortly after the current season of The Voice premiered. The song supposedly is about “telling a lover to leave the relationship if that is what they truly want.”
