Valory Music Co.One of the more interesting collaborations on this year’s CMA Awards will no doubt be the sight of Thomas Rhett teaming up with the pop-rock band Fall Out Boy. How’d that come about? Turns out T.R. is a longtime fan of the Chicago group, and says the opportunity to actually get to play with them is “pretty awesome.”

Sony Music NashvilleCarrie Underwood has quite the story to tell. The seven-time Grammy winner’s new album, Storyteller, has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Album chart, making Carrie the only artist in the chart’s 51-year history to launch her first six albums at #1.

Sony Music notes Storyteller logged “pure” sales in excess of 164 thousand, according to Nielsen Music, as well as 177 thousand equivalent album units — a combination of traditional album sales, streaming equivalent sales, and track equivalent sales.

Sam Erickson/Warner MusicYou should start hearing the first single from Frankie Ballard‘s next album on country radio soon. On the heels of three number ones — “Helluva Life,” “Sunshine & Whiskey” and “Young & Crazy” — Frankie traveled to the Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas to record 14 songs, including “It All Started with a Beer.”

The new single was co-written by Jaren Johnston from The Cadillac Three, who also had a had in writing “Sunshine & Whiskey,” the title track of Frankie’s current project. So far, there’s no word on when the new album will be released …read more

The “Gonna Know We Were Here” hitmaker will help build excitement for the 49th annual show by appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night from the Country Music Hall of Fame. Though we don’t know exactly what the pop superstar from Memphis will be performing, we do know he’ll take the stage in Nashville this week with three-time nominee Chris Stapleton.
