CMAIn a ceremony that started with Vince Gill and Marty Stuart teaming up to pay tribute to guitarist Grady Martin, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum welcomed its 2015 inductees during a star-studded evening in the CMA Theatre Sunday night in Nashville. Vince played the iconic Spanish guitar on “El Paso,” while Marty mastered the ballad’s myriad verses. Country and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Brenda Lee remembered her insistence Martin be the session leader on her classic recordings, as she officially bestowed the Hall’s medallion on the late guitarist’s family.

Kenan Award for Vocal Health and Wellness March 29 from the Duke Voice Care Center as part of World Voice Day. He’ll perform a brief acoustic set during the presentation at the Cary, NC Arts Center.

Previously available only on DVD, Johnny Cash‘s Man in Black: Live in Denmark 1971 makes its debut as a double-LP and CD this winter. It will be pressed on red and white vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday on November 27, in advance of its December 4 digital release. Columbia/Legacy …read more

Webster Public RelationsSunday night, the Oak Ridge Boys officially become members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. But last weekend, they were rubbing elbows with Taylor Swift outside Dallas. The Oaks took in Taylor’s 1989 show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and headed backstage to visit with the superstar and her parents.

Lead singer Duane Allen simply called Taylor’s production the “most amazing show I have ever seen.” During their visit, her dad recalled going to see the “Elvira” hitmakers in Hershey, Pennsylvania in 1979, long before his famous daughter was born.

Nancy Seltzer & Assoc.Friday morning, Garth Brooks broke his own record in Wichita, Kansas, selling more than 65,000 seats in less than an hour. His previous high mark dates back almost 18 years, when he sold more than 51,000 tickets at the Kansas Coliseum in November of 1997. Garth and wife Trisha Yearwood will play six shows at Intrust Bank Arena between December 3 and 6, with seats still available at last check.

The couple wraps up their two-weekend run in Phoenix, Arizona Saturday night, before heading for Salt Lake City, Utah October 29.
