Blake Shelton Explains Why He Plants 10 Acres of Watermelon Every Year

Image Courtesy Warner Music NashvilleBlake Shelton plants about 10 acres of watermelon on his Oklahoma property every year, but you won’t find him eating any of them. In fact, Blake hates watermelon.

He tells People, “I don’t know why I do it. It’s random and it’s weird. My step-dad likes them, but Miranda doesn’t even really care for them that much.”

If Blake’s step-dad wants any watermelon, he’ll have to be quick about harvesting them.

Says Blake, “Normally, it never makes it to the point where they even get eaten because deer eat them so fast.”

The singer and coach on The Voice is ranked sixth on McAfee’s list of the Most Dangerous Cyber Celebrities of 2014.

Image Courtesy Webster PRKenny Rogers will kick off his 33rd Christmas tour November 12 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The Christmas and Hits Through the Year tour will play 25 dates before wrapping up December 23. Linda Davis is joining Kenny for the trek.

Kenny is also featured on a new song called “That Silent Night” coming out on Jim Brickman‘s new holiday collection On a Winter’s Night: The Songs and Spirit of Christmas. That album is available exclusively at Amazon starting October 7.
