Arista NashvilleCarrie Underwood has made it to the final round of voting for the Milestone Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards next month. She’s up against Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic for the fan-voted trophy. The polls are now open at Billboard.com/Milestone.

The Milestone Award recognizes an innovative artist who achieved a notable chart milestone in the past year. The winner will be announced during the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, airing on ABC Sunday, May 18 at 8 p.m. ET.

Broken Bow RecordsDustin Lynch‘s latest single, “Where It’s At,” features him singing the phrase “yep yep” at several points in the song. Fans have latched onto “yep yep” so much, Dustin’s already selling t-shirts and other items with that line at his concerts.

Courtesy KevinSharp.comKevin Sharp, who scored a hit in 1996 with “Nobody Knows,” has died.

Sharp’s website announced the singer died Saturday night of ongoing complications from past stomach surgeries and digestive issues. He was 43.

Sharp — who survived a battle with a rare form of bone cancer after he was diagnosed while in high school — earned a #1 country hit in 1996 with “Nobody Knows,” a cover of a song by R&B artist Tony Rich. CMAThe Band Perry recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of their sophomore album, Pioneer. While the latest single from that project, “Chainsaw,” climbs the charts, the Perry siblings are starting to think about what they want to say on their upcoming third album.

Lead singer Kimberly Perry says, “We have begun, slowly but surely, and I can’t even tell you what’s in our heads yet, because we’re still trying to get it all out on paper.”

CMACountry newcomer Jon Pardi probably wouldn’t have pursued a career in music if it wasn’t for his grandmother’s karaoke machine. She used to watch him sing for hours when he was a kid growing up in Dixon, CA.

Jon tells The Sacramento Bee, “She just loved to sing. We’d play Garth Brooks tracks or George Strait tracks, and we’d sing along. It was fun.”

MCA NashvilleKip Moore is just one of the many country stars you might find digging in the bins at an independent record store. He’s the proud owner of an old record player and is building a collection of old vinyl albums.

Kip tweeted, “Everyone should cut off from the world once a week, grab a drink and listen.”

Saturday, by the way, is national Record Store Day, and a few country artists like Dolly Parton and Eric Church are releasing vinyl products exclusively to independent record stores around the country to celebrate.

Republic NashvilleFlorida Georgia Line has been playing shows in Canada this past week, but the duo’s Tyler Hubbard isn’t happy with the weather up there. He posted an photo from his hotel room on Instagram Friday saying, “Not the prettiest place I’ve been to in Canada. It’s so cold and nasty today.”

Luckily, FGL heads to Hawaii for a little fun in this sun this coming week before their show in Honolulu on Thursday, April 24.

Greenroom PRAvid baseball fan Jason Aldean has joined the guest judging panel to select the participants in this year’s Major League Baseball Honorary Bat Girl program. Each Major League Baseball club will select a woman who has been affected by breast cancer or participated in the fight against the disease to serve as bat girl for their favorite team. The cause is close to Jason’s heart since he lost a good friend to breast cancer a few years back.
