ABC/Craig SjodinLuke Bryan has a tough job on American Idol, figuring out which contestants get sent home and which ones go through to the next round. In an interview with Extra at the ACM Awards on Sunday in Las Vegas, the singer admits that some fans are angry at his decisions.

“I wasn’t prepared for the fans to get so mad at me for people that we send home, but we have to send somebody home,” he reasons.

In an interview with Billboard at Sunday night’s Academy of Country Music Awards, AJ revealed he’s making a country album but, as he puts it, “I’m coming in to disrupt country. I wanna come in and shake things up.”

AJ says he got the idea after Backstreet teamed up with Florida Georgia Line and scored a #1 country hit with “God, Your Mama and Me,” recorded an episode of CMT Crossroads with them and joined them on their Smooth tour.

The trek includes added tour stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ The Forum and Chicago’s Hollywood Casino.

ABC/Image Group LAFollowing Jason Aldean‘s third Entertainer of the Year win at the ACM Awards Sunday evening, he visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, where he discussed returning to Las Vegas six months after Route 91 Harvest.

Jason was on stage performing when a man fired into the festival crowd, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds of other country fans. The “You Make It Easy” singer recounted the tragedy to Ellen DeGeneres, admitting he didn’t know what was happening at the time.

ABC/Eric McCandlessCam is the latest country star to serve as a mentor and performer on American Idol. It’s something she’s looking forward to doing.

“There’s so many amazingly gifted kids that I think whoever wins this is just gonna do really well,” the “Diane” singer told Billboard ahead of Sunday night’s ACM Awards.

In addition to serving as a mentor, Cam will perform with contestants Effie Passero and Shannon O’Hara, both of whom she calls “extremely talented.”
