Atlantic RecordsThe 2017 Grammy Nominees album will be out later this month, and country makes a strong showing this year, with 8 of the project’s 21 tracks coming from the country field.

The disc features five country number ones: Kelsea Ballerini‘s “Peter Pan,” Carrie Underwood‘s “Church Bells,” Thomas Rhett‘s “Die a Happy Man,” and Tim McGraw‘s “Humble and Kind,” as well as this week’s current country #1 hit: Keith Urban‘s “Blue Ain’t Your Color.”

ABC/Image Group LAKacey Musgraves has a song featured in the new Ben Affleck movie, Live by Night. In the film, Ben plays a bootlegger who becomes a notorious gangster, so Kacey’s tune is appropriately titled “Moonshine.”

Burke/Triolo Productions/Thinkstock Alan Jackson‘s mother, Mrs. Ruth Jackson, died Saturday morning at her home in Newnan, Georgia, at the age of 86. Known as “Mama Ruth,” she leaves behind Alan and his four siblings, as well as a dozen grandchildren and nine great-grandkids. Alan’s father, Eugene “Daddy Gene” Jackson, passed away 17 years ago, in January of 2000.

The Beach Town Music Festival is now set for December 8 & 9 in Vero Beach, Florida. The event at Indian River County Fairgrounds was originally scheduled for October of last year, but had to be postponed due to Hurricane Matthew. Hometown boy …read more

After she recorded her part on “Make the World Go Away” for Jamey Johnson‘s Living for a Song album in 2012, Alison says she knew she had to cut a record with legendary producer Buddy Cannon. In addition to making albums with Kenny Chesney, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson and many more, he’s also written hits for both George Strait and George Jones.

Carrie previously attended the precursor to the Oscars in 2011, when she was nominated for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for “There’s a Place for Us” from Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
