ABC/Image Group LAMiranda Lambert‘s MuttNation Foundation was created to raise awareness for shelter animals and to provide them loving homes. This holiday season, MuttNation is teaming up with Petmate for unique pet collections, which benefit the organization.

“All my life I have felt such a strong connection with dogs and never lost that passion for wanting to find homes for them,” Miranda says in a statement. “I couldn’t be more thrilled about all the hard work and accomplishments of MuttNation this year and cannot wait to see the difference we can make throughout this holiday season.”

George Strait named 2018 Texan of the Year

ABC News RadioGeorge Strait will be recognized as the 2018 Texan of the Year by the Texas Legislative Conference. The country legend will be celebrated on March 22 at the New Braunfels, TX Civic/Convention Center.

The prestigious honor has been given annually since 1974, and it’s previously been presented to former presidents, U.S. senators, congressmen and governors, among others.

“No one has done more than George Strait to raise awareness and funds for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts,” Conference Chair Doug Miller, former Texas State Representative, says in a statement.
