“The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone”: Lee Ann Womack goes back to her Texas roots for new album

ATO Records2001 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Lee Ann Womack returns October 27 with her first new album since 2014’s The Way I’m Livin’.

The daughter of the Lone Star State traveled back to her native Texas for The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone, recording most of the album at the legendary SugarHill Studios in Houston. In fact, she stood on practically the same spot to record her cover of George Jones‘ “Take the Devil out of Me,” as the legend did for the original in 1959.
