“Luke Bryan’s not cheap!” Did Blake Shelton advise Luke about his “American Idol” paycheck?

ABC/Ida Mae AstuteLuke Bryan is officially headed to the judges’ table for the new season of American Idol on ABC.

The “Light It Up” hitmaker will be seated alongside the legendary Lionel Richie and pop superstar Katy Perry, with Ryan Seacrest returning as the show’s host.

While there was lots of speculation about who’d ultimately end up on the panel, Luke apparently consulted his pal Blake Shelton — who’s on NBC’s competing show The Voice, of course — as he was entertaining the Idol offer. And apparently, Blake gave Luke some advice about negotiating his fee.

ABC/Image Group LA Kenny Chesney claims the 30th #1 of his career, as “All the Pretty Girls” ascends to the top of both the Billboard and the Mediabase charts this week.

The superstar from East Tennessee believes it’s the universal appeal of the track from Cosmic Hallelujah that’s made it so popular.

ABC/Image Group LA Jason Aldean is calling off his upcoming concerts in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Anaheim, California this weekend, in light of Sunday night’s mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

“As a result of what happened in Las Vegas this week, we have decided to cancel this coming weekend’s shows,” Jason says in a statement. “I feel like out of respect for the victims, their families and our fans, it is the right thing to do.”

ABC/Mark LevineAfter Maren Morris‘ surprise release of the track “Dear Hate” in response to the mass shooting at a country concert in Las Vegas on Sunday night, the song was to be made available to download Friday, with proceeds going to the Music City Cares Fund. But the reaction to the tune was so great, it’s available now.

“Thank you for your outpour[ing] of support for ‘Dear Hate,'” Maren tweeted, “Because of the response, iTunes has put it up early. Vegas, we are with you,” she added, with a heart emoji.

ABC NewsThough they didn’t know it at the time, Big & Rich‘s room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino was very near the one occupied by alleged shooter Stephen Paddock.

“Our rooms were right underneath where his room was,” Big Kenny told Entertainment Tonight. “I was looking down at the festival the whole day. I was watching all the fans coming into the festival. It’s as heartbreaking of an event as you can possibly have.”

The debut record from Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson emerges at the top of Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart this week. The appropriately-titled On the Rocks features the band’s first single, “Drinkin’ Problem,” which claimed the top spot on the singles chart several weeks ago, and has been certified gold as well.

Midland will be playing their follow-up, “Make a Little,” as they set out on the Lucky Tonight Tour with Jon Pardi this fall.

The 66-year-old died Monday night after going into cardiac arrest at his Malibu home the previous evening. He was rushed to UCLA Medical Center but couldn’t be revived.
