GS or CS? Georgia Southern pays tribute to ballcap-wearing alum Cole Swindell

ABC/Randy HolmesIt’s easy to mistake the GS logo on the baseball cap Cole Swindell typically wears for his initials. But actually, it stands for his beloved alma mater, Georgia Southern, the school both he and Luke Bryan attended.

After many years of Cole supporting his school by sporting their gear, the university is turning the tables on him, offering a new piece of Cole-inspired swag: for $15, you can pick up a black-and-white “Paulson Stadium: You Should Be Here: Statesboro, GA” t-shirt online.

Unfortunately, if you didn’t already score a ticket to see Garth at RodeoHouston next year, you’ve probably missed your chance. The Oklahoma native sold out both shows in 18 minutes on Friday.

Brett will sing the classic carol next Tuesday as part of Live with Kelly and Ryan‘s Holiday Hits Week.

The California native is the sole country performer in a week filled with superstars from all genres. On Monday, American Idol winner Fantasia performs a song from her new Christmas album, with Seal, British singer/songwriter James Arthur and boy band 98 Degrees rounding out the week.

Live with Kelly and Ryan follows Good Morning America on most ABC stations.

ABC/Image Group LAThere’s a new holiday track from Hunter Hayes this yuletide season, as the Louisiana native teams up with alt-pop trio Echosmith to remake the John Lennon Christmas classic, “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).”

Hunter and Echosmith even made a music video that features behind-the-scenes footage of the two acts recording the song. They all get into the spirit by wearing reindeer antlers, sharing candy canes and playing around with Christmas tree decorations.

The track appears on the band’s recently-released holiday EP, An Echosmith Christmas.
