Red Wings Heading Home With Chance to Set New Record

Marquette02/07/12 – Detroit Red Wings are coming home tomorrow after a 5 game road trip that saw the Wings accumulate a 2 – 3 record and saw goalie Jimmy Howard sustain a broken finger on his right hand in Game 3 against Vancouver.

Detroit’s 6 game home stand begin with Edmonton tomorrow, Anaheim on Saturday and the Flyers on Sunday. These next three games will determine whether the Wings will tie a record for consecutive home victories, set by the Boston Bruins in 1929 and repeated by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1975.

No doubt, Howard has solidified his position as first string goalie while steadily improving his skills in net since the season beginning.

I’ve got my eye on Jimmy…he’s got the skills to build a long standing, successful career with Detroit. If only the Flyers could get a hold of someone of Howard’s abilities.
