Hot Wings Extend Home Streak to 18 With Win Over Oilers

Marquette02/09/12 – The Detroit Red Wings are two wins away from tying a NHL league record of consecutive wins at home by defeating the Edmonton Oilers 4 – 2.

The Joe Louis crowd welcomed the Wings home after a 5 game road trip. Joey MacDonald was in net for injured teammate Jimmy Howard, facing only 15 shots for the game, as the Wings recorded their 18 consecutive home victory.

Drew Miller netted the game-winner in a scramble in front of the Oiler net off a Darren Helm shot. Miller tallied his 4 goal in 5 games.

Detroit will host the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
