Marquette General Women’s & Children’s Center to host Children’s Bike Rodeo

MARQUETTE- The Marquette General Women’s & Children’s Center, in conjunction with the Marquette Bike Jam, will be hosting a Children’s Bike Rodeo from 4 – 7 p.m., Friday, June 29, at the Marquette Commons, located on S. Third St. in downtown Marquette.


Children’s Bike Rodeo

Through the Kohl’s Heads UP on Safety program, bike safety presentations will be given and children will be fitted for a free youth size bike helmet and goodie bag, provided by the Kohl’s Cares © Program.

Local bike shops in the community will provide free bike safety and fit checks and the City of Marquette will offer free bike licensing. There will also be a bike obstacle course set up for children to learn rules for safe biking and Jilbert’s Dairy and the Marquette Food Co-op have donated snacks for the participants.

The Children’s Bike Rodeo is part of the Marquette Bike Jam, which is weekend-long event filled with bike-related activities for both adults and children.
