The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center Blood Mobile on site at SIR Federal Credit Union today

Negaunee, Michigan  –  January 10, 2014  –  SIR Federal Credit Union was busy today as several SIR employees and community members rolled up their sleeves to donate blood for the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center.

Sam Barabe, who organized the event said it was a big success! Her goal was to provide the Blood Center with at least 22 donors today and 25 people donated! The blood collected today could save up to 75 people.

Sam also volunteered to donate blood, and she turned it into a family affair. She invited her mom, Debbie, and her sister, Niki — the three of them donated blood together. What a great way to spend some time with your family and help our community at the same time!

If you weren’t able to come out for the blood drive today, you can still donate at the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center. They are still in CRITICAL NEED of all blood types except AB. Call them at 225-4610 today to set up an appointment and help save a life.

On behalf of SIR Federal Credit Union, Sam wanted to thank everyone who donated and volunteered for the blood drive and made it such a success.

  1. Congratulations on a successful blood drive! Donating blood is one of the best and easiest ways a person can help others! Everyone also looks pretty happy, as well they should be.
