UP 200 Dog Sled Race 2013 Marquette, Michigan

A team of dogs and their musher leaving the UP 200 starting line in Marquette last year.

Negaunee, Michigan  –  February 12, 2014  –  The UP 200 and Jack Pine 30 sled dog races are coming up this weekend and SIR Federal Credit Union is proud to support them.

CEO Ron Lauren wants to remind you to get out with your family this weekend and enjoy what has become a community tradition. “You could take your valentine to the races or bring your kids down to see all the excitement,” said Lauren.

The UP 200 Opening Ceremony is at 6:30 pm this Friday on Washington Street in Marquette. Walt Lindala and Frida Waara will kick off the Opening Ceremony.

The Marine Corps League Color Guard will display our flag with pride and the Marquette Male Chorus will give a special performance.


Don’t miss the excitement! Come show your support for the mushers and their dogs.

The Jack Pine 30 begins on Saturday, February 15th, at 10 am in Gwinn. The starting line is at Larry’s Family Foods and the finish line is at the First Baptist Church of Gwinn on North Billings Street.

You’ll find something for everyone to enjoy all weekend as the UP 200, Midnight Run and Jack Pine 30 take place. Click here for a full schedule of events this weekend.

Come on down to Marquette this Friday, on Valentine’s Day, to cheer on the mushers and their teams as they prepare to leave the starting area for the UP 200, and don’t miss the Jack Pine 30 in Gwinn on Saturday, February 15th.
