Get Ready to Roll!

Marquette, Michigan  –  March 25, 2014  – The Iron Range Roll, a relay/run/bicycle event from Ishpeming to Marquette along the Iron Ore Heritage Trail is set for Saturday, June 7. All proceeds of the race will benefit the YMCA “Reach and Rise” youth mentoring program.

40 Below, Marquette County’s Young Professional Networking Group, is partnering with the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, the Cities of Ishpeming, Negaunee, and Marquette, Townships of Negaunee and Marquette, and the YMCA’s “Reach and Rise” program to kick off this friendly race that will hopefully become an annual event for Marquette County.

Registration is at 9 am on June 7 and the race will begin at the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum in Ishpeming, running along the Iron Ore Heritage Trail and ending at the Marquette Commons, nearly 16 miles. The trail is downhill all the way and participants of all ages and ability are encouraged to join in.

There will be staggered starts for the cyclists, relay runners and individual runners for everyone’s safety. The awards ceremony and celebration will at the Ore Dock Brewing Co.
