PancakeIce_Psul0406Just weeks after winning an Oscar for best animated feature, Frozen has reached an impressive milestone. The Disney movie has become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, having grossed 1.072 billion dollars worldwide to date.

Frozen eclipsed the Disney/Pixar film Toy Story 3, which made 1.063 billion dollars following its release in 2010.

Frozen, which features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, was released in the U.S. in late November, setting a Thanksgiving Day box office record by earning 93.6 million dollars over the five-day holiday.

Frozen is now the 10th-highest-grossing film, animated or otherwise, of all time at the worldwide box office.

The film’s soundtrack is a big success, too: it’s been number one for several weeks on the Billboard album chart, thanks in part to the Oscar-winning hit “Let It Go.”

Frozen is currently available on DVD, though it is still screening in theaters.
