The UP Football All-Star Game is becoming just one more great tradition in a place that’s known for them.

MARQUETTE, MI – 6/27/2014 – With only the banquet left to go tonight, the kids have done everything they can to prepare for a fun and exciting game at the Superior Dome tomorrow!  With the game starting at 3pm, be sure to catch all of the pre-game action with Mike Plourde, Bob Nadeau, and Carl Leander Johnson here on 103-FXD or stream it live on WFXD.com starting at 2 o’clock!

It’s a classic battle of East vs. West.  It puts former opponents on the same team, and will surely lead to some exciting action tomorrow!  The players have had a hectic week and are ready to play the real thing.  With check-in on Monday, practices on Tuesday, the skills challenge on Wednesday, and a football camp at Bay Cliff on Thursday, they will probably welcome a simple thing as a football game.

Alex Briones of Ishpeming and future CMU quarterback showed off his arm on Wednesday with a 59-yard bomb to win the Quarterback Challenge.

The game features many players from around the Marquette area, such as future Central Michigan Chippewa Alex Briones of Ishpeming, future NMU Wildcat Tyler LaJoie of Negaunee, and former Redman Kurt Burmeister!  The best part of the game is that is spans the entire UP, with players coming from West Iron County to Sault Ste. Marie and Houghton to St. Igance!

So get on down to the Superior Dome to watch some of the UP’s best athletes duke it out on the grid iron in a good ‘ole fashioned football game.

Pre-game at 2, kick-off at 3!  East vs. West!  Let’s see where the best players really come from.  Right here on 103-FXD!
