Marquette, MI –  December 9, 2016  –  Ojibwa Casinos of Baraga and Marquette announced  big plans for renovation and expansion in the coming year at both locations. The $40 million renovation and expansion projects are the first of their kind since the casinos opened.

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held earlier this week on Wednesday, December 6th and Thursday December 7th. KBIC President Chris Swartz and General Manager Don Wren were among the officials on hand at the groundbreaking ceremonies earlier this week.

The plan for Marquette’s Ojibwa Casino is to turn it into a newly constructed casino that will be an “Entertainment Mecca”.  The newly constructed casino will include a three star 80-room branded hotel, a 1,200-seat entertainment complex, two or three branded restaurants, a 400-seat state of the art conference facility, and an increased gaming floor to accommodate 500 slot machines.

Plans for the Baraga Casino include a $6.5 million facelift, including an overhaul of the Press Box, a better venue in the bar and lounge area, as well as an expansion of the existing gaming facility and many other infrastructure upgrades.
