Marquette, MI  –  November 27, 2017  –  Thanksgiving has passed and it’s time to get in the holiday spirit. If you haven’t quite mustered some holiday cheer yet, “Catch the Christmas Spirit” during the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Marquette Township tomorrow!

Grab the kids and join your Marquette Township community in the Westwood Mall parking lot between Applebee’s and Aspen Dental for a night to remember. The Marquette Charter Township just finished putting up the tree and tomorrow they’ll flip the switch and light ‘er up!

Starting around 6:00 pm, local artists will take the Great Lakes Radio mobile stage to lead the crowd in some Christmas carol favorites. Around 6:30 pm Santa is set to arrive on a Township Fire Truck and the Sheriff’s Department will be on the look out for the Grinch! Once the countdown begins, everyone can watch in awe as we turn the lights on our massive 35 foot Christmas Tree!

After the tree lighting, everyone is invited into the Westwood Mall for refreshments and some holiday fun. Watch a dance performance presented by New Attitudes, check out the UPAWS Apparel Store and warm up with BIGGBY Coffee. Super One Foods has donated cookies and juice, and there will be face painting for the kids! You’ll also get a chance to  snap a photo with your child on Santa’s lap and enjoy a display from the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum!

Come out and “Catch the Christmas Spirit” tomorrow at 6:00pm, sing along to some holiday favorites, enjoy a snack and the show!
