Marquette, MI  –  August 3, 2018  –  We’re celebrating our Marquette Township community with a day of entertainment, food, and family-fun! Join the Marquette Charter Township at Lions Field on Saturday, August 4th for their annual “Catch the Vision” Community Day! We’ll have all of the annual highlights like bounce houses for the kids and a co-ed softball tournament, plus some exciting new events.

This year we are focusing on our entertainment with a large amount of live music in the park! From 10a to 10pm the park will be packed full of family-fun and starting at noon, the music begins. Up first is Jazz in the Park featuring UP Right Bass & Hammond. Following at 2pm we’ll have the Blusers before getting into the return of local singing competition, Sing it U.P.! Put on by the Up North Lodge, the restaurant is bringing back the best of the best from the last four years for one “All-Stars” competition! Candi from the Up North Lodge is bringing the top 10 contestants back for a three hour sing off from 4-7pm. Closing out the night, we’ll be featuring local rock band, Left of Center.

Throughout the day we’ll have a kids zone for the kids sponsored by Double Trouble Entertainment. They’ll have inflatables on the ice rink that will keep your kids busy while you enjoy the live music and softball tournament.

Also new this year, we’re welcoming New Attitudes Dance Studio to the state for a 1:45pm performance. The girls at New Attitudes will grace attendees with a few different routines to change things up in between the live music.

On the tennis courts you can also check out the free Pickleball clinic. You’ll have a chance to learn how to play the game right there on the court!

Finally, you can’t have a community day without food! Super One Foods of Marquette will be on site with brats, burgers, chips & pop. Copper Crust Company will also be out at the park with their wood fired oven to make some delicious pizza. And to cool down on a summer day, Willy Nilly’s Good and Chilly Frozen Treats will be there with ice cream and other frozen snacks!
