Marquette, MI  –  May 20, 2019  –  After his second around of ABC’s hit show, American Idol, Laine Hardy came away victorious as the season 17 winner. Hardy goes on to join several other county stars who got their big break as winners of American Idol like Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery.

The 19-year old from Livingston, Louisiana previously appeared on Idol’s 16th season were he was voted off around the top 20 section of the show. Returning during season 17 auditions simply as an accompanist for friend, Ashton Gill, Laine Hardy was not originally intending to readution himself. During Gill’s try out the Hardy was pushed into also auditioning again by judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. While Ashton Gill did not make it through American Idol Group Rounds, Laine Hardy continued on, ultimately taking home the big win.

Runner up was the incredibly talented and humble Alejandro Aranda from Pomona, California. We hope to see a bright future ahead for Aranda with is amazing singer/songwriter skills.
