Rock, Michigan– 01/28/16– The Gwinn ModelTowner ladies traveled to Rock to take on the Mid Pen Wolverines this Thursday night. Three pointer shots were the trend in this game for the ModelTowners since the Wolverines were packed tightly inside. It was a slower paced game but a good one and a win for our ModelTowners! The first half of the game went well for Gwinn as they started off on top and kept their strong lead against the Wolverines. The ModelTowners won the tip-off and Nichole Usher got the first points of the game and first three pointer of the game for Gwinn. Kia Evans, ModelTowner, really showed off her speed throughout the game. Anna Cole stood out in the first quarter and made a great three pointer from the other side of the court for Gwinn. 7-3 was the score at the end of one with our ModelTowners in the lead. The second quarter had the only two pointer basket of the game for the ModelTowners, made by Tori Lauren. 14-3 was the score at halftime with our Gwinn ladies still leading over the Wolverines.
Second half action was pretty great for our ModelTowner team. Kia Evans, ModelTowner, made two three pointers in the third quarter with her second one right before the buzzer! Anna Cole of Gwinn scored another three pointer. Nichole Usher, also for the ModelTowners, made yet another three pointer for Gwinn in the third quarter. 26-14 was the score at the end of three with the Wolverines trailing. Fourth quarter was promising as the ModelTowners just kept up with their three pointers. Nichole Usher and Kia Evans both got three pointers this quarter. 39-21 was the final score of the game as our Gwinn ladies gladly took the win over Mid Pen!
