Gwinn  –  February 18, 2013  –  The JackPine 30 dog sled race started in Gwinn at Larry’s Family Foods and ended at the First Baptist Church, Saturday February 16th.

For the first time in it’s history the JackPine 30 purse totaled $1000, with $200 going to the 1st place musher and his team! This would not have been possible without sponsors such as SIR Federal Credit Union!

Sixteen mushers competed in the 31-mile race with 6-dog teams. Heading north from Gwinn on M553 the teams crossed the railroad at Sands Station, looped around the Sands Plains and headed back to Gwinn for the finish. Teams who placed completed the course between 3 and 4 hours.
