Marquette, MiJanuary 21, 2014 –  Dr King’s Dream lives in the conservative right

Yesterday was Martin Luther King day.  This good man dreamed of a day when people would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.  This message has been lost on today’s democrats who do not see individuals for who they are; but rather as a member of the group to which the liberal mind assigns them.  Although they claim Dr King as their own, they fail to understand or to work toward his dream.  They need to listen again to his words.

Too many of the leaders who stood to take up the cause of Dr King wanted the role of leader, but not the freedom he so desired.  In the name of progress, today’s leaders seek not equality, but preference.  They seek not opportunity, but benefits.  They call for the very things that keep people in poverty & dependence.  Worst of all, by asking for lower standards for those they claim to represent, they participate in the soft bigotry of low expectations.

I am happy to agree with Dr King, and I share his dream that people be judged by their character and their actions – and that alone!  We are all called to help those in need, and to help others make a better life for themselves.  That does not happen when we encourage dependency, and it does not happen when we take from some and give to others.  Dr King’s dreams lives in the hearts of people on the right, yet for political gain, those on the left shout racist.  They’ve turned Dr King’ dream into a liberal nightmare!

  1. OMG. All I was doing was tuning in to hear Walt give the morning news. What I got instead was Mr Adamini and his whining. Can I depend on the day after Lincolns birthday to hear he cared nothing about the slaves except how they were economically tipping the scale for the southern states? No?Please don’t hold me captive again for my news fix.

  2. If what Valerie said was TRUE, I’d be happy to repeat it… but I’m in my RIGHT MIND and therefore will not lie to make a point. And although I do love comments… I advise all that it is better to be thought a fool, than to type a comment and remove all doubt.
