Country singer, T G Sheppard turns 68 today! Starting out his music career at 15, his first record entitled, High School Days was recorded under the name of Brian Stacy!!! Changing direction and becoming a record promoter, he went back to his given name of Bill Brower.
In 1974, T G Sheppard knew that Bobby Davis’ song, “Devil in the Bottle”, could be a hit but could not find a record label interested in cutting it. Going down to Nashville, he signed with Motown, who wanted to get involved in country music. This song let to other #1 hits including, ” Trying to Beat the Morning Home” and “When Can We Do this Again”.
T G’s recent project is “Partners In Rhyme” including many of his country industry friends, notably, Willie Nelson, Kelly Lang, Merle Haggard, Ray Stevens and Lorrie Morgan.
