Old Crow Medicine Show were playing at the Ohio Theater in Cleveland, Ohio last Friday; just doing their musical thing on stage. Toward the end of their performance, they were surprised by an appearance from Marty Stuart on stage. Marty has a proposition for the boys in the band that simply startled them!

Stuart had an invitation for them; “Would you all consider becoming a part of this great American story and becoming Grand Ole Opry members?”  All seven members yelled out a resounding, “yes” as their sold out audience gave the band a standing ovation!  Marty then joined the band for “We Don’t Grow Tobacco” before the band launched into their signature tune, “Wagon Wheel.”

The group will be officially inducted into the Opry at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on September 17. Old Crow Medicine Show made some of their first performances in Nashville outside the Opry House in 2000. Later they made their Opry debut on January 13, 2001.

Congratulations, guys! Here is the band performing on Conan Weeknights…
