Tax Filing Is Painless – and Free!

 Members of UP. Vita were on hand at the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library Saturday afternoon to assist anyone wanting to file their federal and state income taxes electronically AND FREE. Accounting and Business Professor Trent Bachelor was present along with five additional members of UP Vita to file taxes for those looking for assistance.

Luke Verstegan, Coordinator of the UP Vita Assistance is one of the five IRS qualified personal available at the library to oversee all finalized electronic filings submitted Saturday at the library. He said that many people have already taken advantage to their services, which have been offered at the library since January 15th.

Two $50 gift cards were awarded randomly to two residents that filed their taxes through UP Vita. Our very own Alex Loftus from the Great Lakes Radio Sales Department arranged the live remote and filed his taxes during the afternoon. Free pizza and soft drinks were also available to those who made use of the free tax filing services.

Professor Bachelor stated that the free filing service is available to the public every Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. Through to April 13th for those seeking to make use of their service.
