How Country Is Steve Tyler?

I’ve been getting a little suspect of Aerosmith’s Steve Tyler and his new country music career. I mean, come on, Tyler has been rockin’ out with his Boston band long before I discovered them as a kid.

This year, he released his first country music recording, “Love Is Your Name”; it’s not a bad song but it’s a long way to Nashville from Boston. So I’ve been thinking recently – is Tyler really going country? I ask that because recently, Steve has made two guest appearances to sing with country artists but didn’t sing country music!

On August 9th, Zac Brown Band fans were surprised when Tyler showed up at the last of a three day stop at Fenway Park to sing. However, it wasn’t country that Steve was belting out with ZBB, it was his own, “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion”!

On September 19, Steve showed up to rock out with The Cadillac Three in Nashville but again, he sang “Sweet Emotion” with The Three.

However, last night on the season premiere of “Nashville”, Tyler finally went country and sang Patsy Cline’s, “Crazy” with Hayden Panettiere. The two of them sounded great together and Tyler came up singing another country song.

For a moment, I thought he was trying to infiltrate the country genre with more rock!!!
