4/27/2013 Marquette, Michigan — Highs in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s were welcomed to the U.P. on Saturday night during American Country Gold with Elmer Aho on 103-FXD. On this Saturday evening’s edition of American Country Gold with Elmer Aho, Elmer dedicated songs throughout the show to the late great George Jones.

George Jones passed away on Friday, April 26th at the age of 81. Each hour during American Country Gold with Elmer Aho, Elmer sent out 3 songs as a tribute to George Jones. The songs ranged from “I’ll Share My World with You” to “The Race Is On.” Over the years, Elmer was able to attend many concerts in which George Jones performed. Elmer Aho was able to share many personal experiences that he had with George Jones.

Elmer remarked “George Jones was a great guy, and a true icon in country music.” He went on to say “He paved the way for today’s country music stars.” He will be truly missed.
