Elmer Aho takes your calls each Saturday night after 30 years on American Country Gold

Marquette, MichiganFebruary 3rd, 2018 – Marquette County and much of the U.P. was under a winter weather advisory on Saturday night during my show. Every end of the Upper Peninsula was receiving a minimal amount of snow. The city of Marquette itself received a good 4-5 inches of fluffy snow. The drive from Gwinn to Marquette on M-553 wasn’t too pleasant. Please remember to slow down on ice and snow!

As I celebrated 30 years of American Country Gold with you in mind on Saturday night, I played an email request from my cousin Brad Lancour from my album for the “Gwinn Model Town Blues”. I know the Model Town had a to shovel out from all the fluffy snow on Saturday.

I tried my level best to play many female singers on Saturday night. I did get many tunes in from Tanya Tucker, Patsy Cline, and Roseanne Cash. The Firepit crew squeezed in a call from West Ishpeming and reported plenty of snow was coming down after 10pm Saturday night. Thanks to Brad Lancour, The Firepit Crew, and even Penny from Palmer for calling in on Saturday night.

We’re expecting a cold week across the U.P.! Bundle up or cozy up by the fire. Make sure you join me on Jarvi Radio in Finland for a rebroadcast of American Country Gold each Sunday from Finland. There’s 13 radio stations in Finland that rebroadcast American Country Gold from the previous Saturday night.

We’ll get back to the vinyl next Saturday, February 10th at 7pm.. same great time and same great place here on 103-FXD! Email me during the week at Call and leave a message with Nancy at the front desk at 361-WFXD, that’s 361-9393.
