12/1/2011 (TheBoot.com)Tim McGraw is a free man — at least when it comes to his music career. The country superstar appeared in court on Wednesday to fight for the right to record new music on a new label while the lawsuit over his contract is still being settled with Curb Records. The court ruled in the singer’s favor.

According to Country Aircheck, a request for an injunction by Curb Records was denied, which means Tim is now free to sign with another record label. While the 44-year-old entertainer has yet to issue a statement regarding the favorable outcome, he and wife Faith Hill both appeared pleased as they exited the courtroom.

Tim has been eager to move to a new label for awhile, after spending more than two decades on the Curb Records roster. “I’ve got some really good options out there,” he said while promoting his film, ‘Country Strong,’ last year. “It’s a long time coming. Twenty years with any label, I think, is too much, so unless you’re really having a great relationship … I think it’s a good time for me to go out and see what’s out there for me.”
