(TheBoot.com) — Kudos to David Nail, who earned his first No. 1 song this week with ‘Let it Rain.’ The tune took nearly a year to climb to the top of the charts and best his 2009 Top 10 hit, ‘Red Light.’

“When you’re 25 weeks in and you believe in a song, but you’re stuck in the middle of the chart, it’s hard to think you’re gonna get there,” David admits, “and yet, you can’t think that it won’t go all the way. I am a very blessed and lucky man, because not only did my label never give up on me, but so many people at country radio hung in there with us, too.”
