Tim McGraw Reaches Number 1 on the Billboard Top Country Chart

Thursday All American Morning News with Eric Scott on 103.3 The Country Extreme

2/14/2013 (Courtesy TheBoot.com) — Good Morning! For the 14th time in his career, Tim McGraw has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Tim’s Two Lanes of Freedom, his first for Big Machine, debuts at No. 1 with more than 106,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album also comes in at No. 2 on the multi-genre Billboard 200, edged out by Josh Groban.

Tim also has the No. 1 tune on the Top Country Digital Tracks chart, but shares the honor with two other country superstars, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban, who join him on “Highway Don’t Care,” from his No. 1 album. The song registered an impressive 85,881 downloads in its first week, topping another debut at No. 2, Lady Antebellum‘s “Downtown,” with 72,358 downloads in its first week at digtal outlets.
