9/25/2013 Marquette, Michigan — Remember which song was #1 14 years ago today?? Well, if you can, you have an excellent memory unlike yours truly…

14 years ago today (Sept. 25th, 1999), Tim McGraw scored his 10th No. 1 hit with ‘Something Like That.’ The tune was the second single from his multi-platinum selling album, ‘A Place in the Sun.’

Written by Rick Ferrell and Keith Follese, the song tells the story of a summer romance: “She had a suntan line and red lipstick / I worked so hard for that first kiss / A heart don’t forget something like that.”

‘Something Like That’  clearly resonated with country music fans. It was the most-played song of any genre for the first decade of the new millenium, from 2000 to 2009. McGraw also included the song on his ‘Number One Hits’ album in 2010.

The Louisiana native’s chart-topping streak didn’t end with ‘Something Like That.’ He has gone on to earn an additional 15 No. 1 hits since then, including his recent single, ‘Highway Don’t Care,’ which included guest appearances by Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

So, time really does fly, doesn’t it?
