The Last Winter Storm of the Season? That’s What I Hear

Remember this Winter Storm late in 2013? Could we see ALL of this today and into Thursday?

4/16/2014 Marquette, Michigan — I’m patiently waiting for the sky to drop 14″ or so of snow across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan tonight and into Thursday. Several different forecasts that I’ve been following show the CITY of Marquette could see less than a foot of snow…. meanwhile, you get into my territory, and places west of Marquette (YES, Ishpeming/Negaunee) could see excess amounts of 14″ to 16″ of wet, heavy snow.

Now, don’t quote me on this, but yesterday (Tuesday) at my Nephew Landyn’s 3rd birthday, I overheard several folks say that this could be the last winter storm of the season. Wouldn’t it be nice!?!

Looking into the FAR future, the forecast is showing Sunny and highs in the mid to upper 50’s most of next week. Do you think this new round of fresh snow will be able to handle that?? Probably not.

So, in the meantime, let’s just enjoy what COULD be the final major “Goodbye” to Upper Michigan winter storm of the season! Drive safely, the snow is supposed to begin this afternoon after 3pm. Roads could get quite slippery and dangerous tonight and into Thursday. As always, we’re here for you on 103-FXD!
