Progress Means Progress, Right?

Ishpeming, MichiganApril 24th, 2017 – The weather this spring has been less than desirable. Granted, we had a beautiful Saturday but Sunday kinda fell off the cliff. In the U.P. we generally rely on the weather to go into our favor when we work on projects around the house–especially when those projects involve painting, sanding, and finishing.

As I’ve talked about on my morning show here on 103-FXD, I’m working on a major renovation in my living room. I’ve ripped up the carpet in my living room, purchased the perfect paint and color for my walls, and now I’m getting ready to sand down my unfinished hardwood floor. This project has turned out to be a bit bigger than I originally thought–I may have bit off more than I can chew.

But, I am determined to make it happen. Since the weather hasn’t generally been going in my favor I haven’t been able to get as much done on time as I had planned. I guess you can’t rely on everything to go in your direction. I’m already a couple weeks behind where I want to be right now. My walls should be painted, my floor should be stained, my ceilings should be white, right? Nope. Not yet–mother nature has yet to go into my favor.

I know the weather has been less than desirable. If you look ahead into this coming week, we’re looking at highs in the 40’s and lower 50’s. Not something that I’m looking forward to. It may not even be warm enough to open my windows to air everything out. Either way, my plan is to have my living room completely renovated by the end of May. My goal is to have it all complete before the official kick off of summer!

Progress means progress, right? Happy Monday!
