Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood return as hosts of the CMA Awards for a fourth year in a row, and they’ve extended that duo onto the country charts in the past year with their duet “Remind Me.” They’ll sing that song on the show too. So, why do Carrie and Brad work so well together? “We have a great respect for one another, as well as similar sense of humor in some ways,” Brad says. “It’s a great thing to find that.”

Fans tuning into the CMA Awards Wednesday night can expect Brad and Carrie to take a few good-natured jabs at their fellow country stars throughout the night. Says Brad, “I think people get to know us as jokesters up there a little bit, and they know we’re kidding, and it allows you so much more leeway than you have the first time you do it.”

Carrie is honored to be invited back for a fourth year hosting the show. She says, “I feel like each time we do it, we get better, and we get more comfortable.” The fun actually starts long before Brad and Carrie hit the stage though. She adds, “It’s already been fun sitting down and talking about what jokes we’re gonna make and what we’re gonna do and see who’s performance before everybody else knows who’s performing and what they’re doing.”

The 45th Annual CMA Awards broadcast live on ABC this Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
