It’s hard to believe it now, but Blake Shelton was almost ready to just hang up the whole singing thing and head out to his Oklahoma home to chill out.  That was before he scored multiple #1 hits and won CMA Male Vocalist of the Year two years in a row.  Looking back, Blake thinks it all started to turn around when he topped the chart with one of his fellow country stars Trace Adkins on “Hillbilly Bone.”  “That when everything kinda really truly changed,” Blake recalls.  “All the sudden it’s just like things started happening one after another.”

Of course, his exposure as a judge on NBC’s The Voice introduced Blake to a whole new audience.  Blake insists he didn’t see that show’s popularity coming saying, “I still don’t know what that is.  It’s just really good.”  He adds, “It just doesn’t seem real to me still.”

Blake’s latest album, Red River Blue, has produced two #1 hits, “Honey Bee” and “God Gave Me You.”
