Tornado hit’s Eagle Mine area of Marquette County

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a rare tornado touched down last week here in the Upper Peninsula.
The weather service estimated the tornado traveled as far as eight miles and was as wide as 200 feet, with wind speeds of up to 95 mph.
The weather service surveyed the area for damage, which mostly was to trees and included the Eagle Mine site, and determined that it was in fact an F1 Tornado.
