Redneck Woman

Gretchen Wilson is on tour now with Big and Rich and will be through September. The phenomenal country star wasn’t always so well big and rich. As a matter of fact she at one time was very, very poor. Her mother was just sixteen when she gave birth and Gretchen grew up in rough world. She was raised by her mother and grandmother to become one of the most extraordinary women of her time. Although the going got tough she just kept going and now this woman just can’t seem to stop.

After leaving her old record company last year she launched her own! Redneck Records was started just two months after leaving her old label and she already has an album out. I’ve Got Your Country Right Here and The Earrings Song are among many of the great country songs that we have grown to love and respect from her.  I’ll bet that she is even more successful now than she ever was before, although that will be a hard thing to beat!

Her first single with the old label, “Redneck Woman,” spent six weeks at #1; her debut album, Here For The Party, sold more than five million copies; she won across-the-board awards including a Grammy and ACM, CMA and AMA nods for best female vocalist; and she toured to large and raucous crowds around the world.

But if I know Gretchen she is just started and will grace us all with great country music for a long, long time!
