Marquette, MI– September 8, 2011 – After a long, hot summer filled with a lot of live music and fun, it continues at the Peter White Public Library Community Room on Sunday, September 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Peter White Public Library Music Jam

Acoustic musicians will jam for the public while celebrating traditional folk music.  Community members are invited to bring their guitar, fiddle, banjo, dulcimer, bass, or voice to play and sing great old time folk music.

Sheet music will be provided for those not familiar with traditional folk music by Peter, Paul and Mary, the Carter Family, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and others.

The jam session is not meant to be a performance, but a way for people to gather in an informal setting and play and sing with others who enjoy traditional acoustic music.  If you do not want to play or sing, you can go to listen as well.

The Hiawatha Music Co-op and the Peter White Public Library are sponsoring this event.  There is not a charge for admission.
