Create Handmade Treasures at Regional History Center Workshop

Marquette, MI -The Marquette Regional History Center is hosting an event for artists and non-artists who are looking to create a unique and functional art piece for their home.

There will be a furniture painting workshop inspired by Vida Lautner on October 26th and November 2nd from 6-9 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center.

This  two-part furniture painting workshop will include inspirational ideas and techniques from artist Joy Bender Hadley.  Whether participants are looking to create traditional or abstract style furniture, they will able to come up with a unique design.

John Lautners special exhibit: A Life in Architecture with a special focus on the art of Vida Lautner, will be included with a guided tour.

At this event you will learn basic composition and blending of colors, as well as the opportunity to experiment with original stencils inspired by Vida Lautner.

To register, call the History Center at 906-226-3571.  This workshop is limited to 20 students and a fee of $25 will be charged.

Important notice:  Furniture pieces must be pre-sanded, primed and ready to paint.  You may use any flat white paint for primer. Limited paint colors and brushes will be provided.  Please bring extra brushes and paint (acrylic or house paint) in colors that inspire you.
