Looking For Some Local History?

The Marquette Regional History Center is going to be providing walking tours in honor of “Dandelion Cottage Month.”

“Dandelion Cottage” is a book written by Carroll Watson Rankin, one of Marquette’s most famous authors. The book is based on a true story about a cottage, four girls, and a yard full of dandelions. Doesn’t that sound like the U.P.? The cottage is still located on east Arch street.

The tours will begin at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marquette and they will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. and Thursday at 7 p.m. on Arch and Ridge streets.

Carroll Watson Rankin has wrote and published 11 books from 1904-1935!

A $5 donation is requested. For more information call the Marquette Regional History Center at 226-3571 or check out their website www.marquettehistory.org/.
