Award Ceremony for King George

The Country Scoop with HeatherOne of my most favorite songs right now is by George Strait and yes, it is his latest “Give It All We Got Tonight.”

That song is at #15 on the charts this week, up two spots from last week and I think it’s going all the way to #1! And that is why the country king was being honored; he had 59 #1 hits! At the Country Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony, George was presented with the Country Radio Broadcasters Career Achievement Awards.

There is a campaign going on right now trying to get 60 #1’s for George while he is still 60 years-old. George’s 61st birthday is on May 18th. You can join the movement and help George by going to!

The Nashville Convention Center was packed full of people all to honor the very deserving George Strait, who’s sold almost 69 MILLION albums!

George has been in the business for 30 years and he is one of, if not the best, in country music. He had 24 albums reach #1 and he is the only country music artists to have 85 or 90 singles reach the top 10! He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006 and he is known as the King of Country!

The Cowboy Rides Away Tour is going on right now! Congratulations George!
