Palace Malice and jockey Mike Smith

The 145th Belmont Stakes were ran in New York this past Saturday June 8th.

A different horse won the third race of the triple crown and it was Palace Malice! He showed real speed in the Kentucky Derby but fell off the pace. After taking the blinders off for the Belmont, Palace Malice held the pace and pulled away in the end to win! He was ridden by Hall of Fame jockey, Mike Smith.

Preakness winner Oxbow came in second and Kentucky Derby winner Orb came in third. The top three horses came in one two and three, but no one could bring home the triple crown!

It was still an awesome race!
