My Fortune – “You will receive unexpected support over the next week. Accept it graciously.”

Marquette, Michigan  –  (October, 31st)   Today I got away from the office for a quick lunch, and a mid day break with my wife. Cori and I went to a local Chinese Restaurant and had a great meal. I ordered a large bowl of Hot and Sour soup with extra Hot Chilli Oil – Spicy Spicy!  Cori ordered steamed vegetables with a spicy brown sauce on the side, it also came with crab rangoons and white rice.

Lunch was great and it was good to spend an hour with my wife!  Now out came the bill and a few Fortune Cookies.  I eat Fortune Cookies a very specific way each time I get one.  I’m not superstitious, I just developed this method for cookie consumption years ago and have stuck with it through good and bad fortunes.  By the way I am a Rabbit on the Chinese Calendar – Luckiest of All Signs!

  1. If I’m eating with others, I always let someone else pick their fortune coockie first.
  2. I break the cookie in half and pull it apart.  The fortune has always stayed stuck in one half. :-)
  3. I eat the half of the cookie that is fortune free while I pull the paper our of the other half. Leaving the second half on the table.  I never eat the whole cookie…
  4. It’s okay to switch fortunes with another at the table if the swap is mutual and fitting!

Like I said I’m not superstition, but these are rules that I always follow and so far so good.  Today my fortune was “You will receive unexpected support over the next week.  Accept it graciously.”
