WFXD Crowd enjoys the Montgomery Gentry concert in Escanaba January 12 2013
It always helps a show when the crowd is huge, motivated, loud, and ready to have some fun!  That was the case Saturday night.  The crowd loved “My Town”. This song describes many small towns around the U.S. and the people that hold communities together. The pride in having roots and even when we leave it and it still  sticks with us.  Escanaba and Marquette traditions run deep and sometimes distance brings to light things we missed. “This is my town…” is something everyone can say and there’s stories in each town. We all loved it.

“Speed” was very popular when they sang “I need to find a place where my heart can go to heal” – it’s the urgency in now and the looking at memories that come on unasked.

Now to my surprise, Close up on Gentrys Guitar and Cross on Gentrys Arm
One of my friends in the pit up close texted me a close up of Gentry’s arm. He has a cross on his arm. With Gentry having this symbol visible, and having this big of a cross usually means he believes in that image and what an empty cross stands for.

Also in terms of religious symbols or comments, Montgomery had a few things to be thankful for and he thanked the Big Guy for America, our troops, Freedom and the good life.

Thanks island Resort and Casino, Jimmy Jaye, Sue Harris and all of you we saw Saturday night. Thanks for another great show!
