Escanaba – Lansing  – March 13, 2013 –  Two Upper Peninsula victories came across my desk this morning that excite me.

The Negaunee Miners battled it out in Escanaba and sailed past Houghton for a victory in the Regionals.

Walt Lindala and Bill Tibor emailed me a picture of four prestigious broadcast excellence awards they received in Lansing last night.

The Negaunee Miners will now go downstate.  I invite you to tun into both of our large FM’s Friday morning from 7a to 8:30a to hear the basketball players and their coach talk about the funds they need to raise to go to Lansing.

You will have a chance to donate to the cause of sending our boys to the championships.  The live fund raiser broadcast will be from 7a-8:30a on 103-FXD with Joe, and on Sunny 101.9fm with Walt & Mike.

Walt and Bill Tibor collected a boat load of awards last night for Broadcast Excellence by Great Lakes Radio.

WKQS-WPIQ-WFXD-WQXO-WRUP competed with stations all across Michigan in several of the 83 counties for these awards and came out on top.

Way to go boys!

Our peers voted Great Lakes Radio Stations at the top of the heap across some 83 counties in Michigan.
